Keeping Jersey moving through lockdown.
Jersey, like the rest of the British Isles, has taken measures necessary to combat the coronavirus, resulting in strict social distancing measures.
As with gyms and fitness centres across the UK, this led to the decision to close the three Active centres, playing their part in protecting health service capacities.
During the time the Active Centres are closed, membership has been automatically frozen, with no fee to pay until these facilities re-open.
Although all of their facilities will be closed, the Active App and social media channels remain full of health advice and workouts that you can do at home or outside. Active have been proactive in using technology to continue to engage with their members.
After FitPro introduced Active Jersey to the cross-industry initiative, Active promoted the fit4thefight App to their members and PT's through their website, social media channels, email and push notifications in the Active App. Three weeks into the lockdown, the team have taken more than 120 bookings.

"The fit4thefight App came to our attention via a FitPro newsletter. The timing was perfect as we were just looking at what we could do to support the freelance fitness instructors that deliver the bulk of our Group Fitness timetable as well as offer some way for our Members to access some of their favourite classes during lockdown.
At Active, we pride ourselves on being approachable and welcoming, and our instructors play a big part in that. There are quite a few instructor-to-viewer streamed classes out there at the moment, but it doesn't compare with the personalised instruction given by a professional instructor.
The team at fibodo couldn't have been more helpful, they made the process so simple and took our instructors through it step by step. The feedback from my instructors, some of which were a little unsure of the tech at first, was great and now it's pretty much running itself!"
The residents of Jersey have been able to access the classes they love, Les Mills programs, Yoga and Pilates, to name a few.
